Lou Marcel Canoe Race to benefit
Special Olympics MA North Section!

Join us for an 8 mile adventure paddling down the Merrimack River. Organize your crew and brave the wilds of the beautiful Merrimack Valley. All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics. This year’s race will be bigger and better than ever! The Canoe Race is a blast! Once the river excursion is done, join in the celebration at the Crescent Yacht club in Bradford. Enjoy food, beverage, and LIVE music as well as awards for the best costume.

"Charles River Canoe and Kayak"

canoe rentals will be delivered to Lawrence (start of race) and retrieved at the Crescent Yacht Club in Bradford for a nominal fee of $55. Click on the "Canoe Rentals" link on the left to rent your canoe from Charles River Canoe & Kayak. On-line reservations required for all canoe rentals.

So, can you paddle a canoe or kayak? Can you try? Come float down the Merrimack River like a Mountain Dew ad! Register to participate by clicking "Register Here" above, and then raise funds online if you wish! ...OR sponsor a Canoeist / Team as they work to raise money for Special Olympics athletes!!


Race Details:

7:30 AM Shuttle to the starting line leaves Crescent Yacht Club. Shuttle will then pick up people at the Upper Deck of the Haverhill Parking Garage at approximately 7:40 AM and deliver participants to the starting line in Lawrence.

8:00 AM Registration: Grab some java and doughnuts. Pick-up your sun-screen, bottled water, and bandana.

9:15 AM the Canoe race starts down the Merrimack River - rain or shine!! The course is approximately 7 miles, so get those muscles ready!

10:45 AM the post-race VIP reception starts at the Crescent Yacht Club in Bradford. There, you will enjoy music, awards, raffles, prizes, food and libations!

Buses will run every hour from 1:00 until 3:00 transporting participants from the VIP reception back to the Upper Deck of the Haverhill Parking Garage and to the starting line to retrieve their cars.
